PURPOSE: A cathode ray tube including a deflection yoke wound with a coil having a notch is provided to reduce the energy loss due to the eddy current by forming the notch to the longitudinal direction of an electric wire. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube including a deflection yoke wound with a coil having a notch includes an electron gun, a screen, and a deflection yoke. The electron gun(1) is used for emitting electron beams. A phosphor is coated on an inner surface of the screen(2). The light is generated from the screen by the collision between the screen and the electron beams. The deflection yoke(4') includes a horizontal deflection coil, a vertical deflection coil, and an auxiliary deflection coil. One of the horizontal deflection coil and the vertical deflection coil is formed with an electric wire having a notch. The notch is formed to the longitudinal direction of the electric wire. The cathode ray tube further includes a shadow mask(3) to transfer correctly the electron beams to the corresponding phosphor.
