The system has a fastener (30) connected to a plate (20) of a seat cover and cooperating with a fixing pad retention unit. The retention unit is situated towards the front of a blank (41) of the pad (40) to enable insertion of the fastener in the blank. A spring (50) penetrates into the blank to push the fastener towards the front by pressing a rear edge of the blank. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle having a seat cover fixing system.
