PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic made proof against being yellowed and exhibiting an ultraviolet screening effect. SOLUTION: This oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic contains 4-tert-butyl-4'-methoxybenzoylmethane and titanium dioxide and is characterized in that the oil phase contains the 4-tert-butyl-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane and the titanium dioxide, and the water phase contains silicic anhydride. Thus, the oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic which does not undergo yellowing and effectively exhibits an ultraviolet screening effect produced by 4-tert-butyl-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane and titanium dioxide is provided.
