PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress positional deviation of printing caused by positional deviation of stopping of a paper sheet based on the kind of the paper sheet to the minimum, and to improve quality of the printing. SOLUTION: A dot line printer has a hammer bank mounting a plurality of printing elements, a reciprocating means for reciprocating the hammer bank in the beam direction, and a tractor mechanism part for carrying the printing paper sheet to the front face of the hammer bank by using a stepping motor or the like. Amount of motion of the tractor mechanism part determined from amount of feeding of the paper sheet is corrected by a fine amount of one dot line or less in accordance with the kind of the paper sheet used for printing or the amount of feeding of the paper sheet to be practiced, and the tractor mechanism part is actuated to practice feeding of the paper sheet.
