PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent electrolytic solution from leaking to the surface of a negative electrode terminal plate in an alkaline dry cell provided with a gasket made of nylon. SOLUTION: As for the alkaline dry cell provided with the gasket 5 to be interposed between an opening part of a positive electrode can and the negative electrode terminal plate and to seal a gap between both, the gasket is formed from nylon resin, and a plurality of peak-shaped protrusions 5g, 5h are formed on the surface of the comparatively thin-walled parts of the gasket 5e, 5f, and the gasket 5 is made to contact with the inner face of the negative electrode terminal plate via these protrusions.
