PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carriage and an inkjet type recording device equipped with this carriage which enables smooth setting and separation of an ink cartridge, and can supply all ink in the ink cartridge. SOLUTION: A guide part 52b for guiding an ink cartridge 152 with holding the top end of the cartridge 152 to be inserted/extracted through an opening side face is formed at the cover parts 52B and 52C of a cartridge holder 50. When the ink cartridge is inserted or taken out through the opening side face of a holder part, such a situation that the ink cartridge is inclined when supported can be prevented, and the ink cartridge can be installed and removed smoothly.
