DIGITAL WIRELESS APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital wireless apparatus for attaching an error correction code to the voice data to make a speech and bringing high quality to the voice when the state of a radio wave propagation is excellent and no error takes place in received data. SOLUTION: The digital wireless apparatus is provided with: a voice CODEC whose transmission rate is higher than that of a voice CODEC having already been installed on the digital wireless apparatus; and a voice CODEC selection section for selecting one of the voice CODECs by discriminating a radio wave propagation state depending on the presence/absence of an error from received data of which the data at a transmitter side are known in advance to supervise the radio wave propagation state. Thus the digital wireless apparatus supervises the radio wave propagation state and uses the voice CODEC with the higher transmission rate when the propagation state is excellent and no error takes place in the received data.
