PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for an engine capable of reducing the pumping loss when the degree of opening of its throttle valve remains small and enhancing the fuel economy. SOLUTION: The intake device of the engine is structured so that the other end of an atmospheric air passage whose one end is at the atmospheric pressure, is connected with a suction passage 24 leading between the throttle valve 14 and a suction valve 7.
