PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material high in sensitivity and excellent in image preservability. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material having a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on the same surface of a support, is characterised in that the silver iodide content of the photosensitive silver halide is 5-100 mol% and a polymeric latex prepared by copolymerization of 10-70 mass% of a monomer represented by formula (M): CH<SB>2</SB>=CR<SP>01</SP>-CR<SP>02</SP>=CH<SB>2</SB>is contained as the binder, wherein R<SP>01</SP>represents H, a 1-6C alkyl, halogen or cyano and R<SP>02</SP>represents a 1-6C alkyl, halogen or cyano, (by the way, R<SP>01</SP>and R<SP>02</SP>are groups selected from among H, 1-6C alkyls, halogen and cyano with the proviso that R<SP>01</SP>and R<SP>02</SP>are not simultaneously H).
