摘要 The invention relates to a method for determining the rotational angles of the polarisation axes of an optical waveguide or fiber and by means of them for determining the true PXR values. The rotational angle alpha of a polarisation axis is determined in relation to the reference angle of the measuring device. For example, when using a linear polariser as the measuring device, either the polariser's blocking or transmission direction can be chosen as the reference angle. An optical waveguide or fiber (17) can be connected to a polariser (11) and the transmitted optical power can be further introduced into a detector (14). Alternatively, the optical waveguide or fiber (17) can be connected to a polarisation splitter (12) and the splitted optical powers can be further introduced into detectors (14). The angle between the measuring device and the waveguide or fiber is adjusted accurately and the phase difference of the waveguide inaccurately, so that an information system (SERV) can form, based on the detector signals, at least two curves, and the rotational angle alpha can be determined based on their intersection point.
