The ultra-sonic shock-wave lithotripter, suitable for the destruction of objects like kidney stones (K), comprises an ultra-sonic applicator (10) and a device for the creation and visualization of a B-scan (15). The device for the evaluation of the B-scan (15) creates a signal (S) for the shock-wave generator (2) when it is safe to aim at the object (K) to be destroyed. The evaluation device (15) can be integrated in the unit or part of a separate component connected to the video output of the ultra sonic device (12).
