The present invention is provided with an adjustable wrench for adjusting th e width of the jaw quickly. Said wrench includes a stationary body (1) which a chamber (12) in the upper body; a movable body (2) provided with a worm (13) in the lower body, which may move transversely inside said chamber (12); a driving mechanism (100_ located in said chamber (12) includes a worm gear (1 0) engaged with said worm (13), which is composed of a worm shaft (20), a first gear (3) located coaxially on a end of worm shaft (20) with said worm gear (10), a connection shaft (9) located parallelly under said worm shaft (20), a second gear (4) mounded on the end of said connection shaft (9), which is engaged with the first gear (3), a traction means (200) connected with said shaft (9). Said means may make said shaft (9) rotate, so that the second gea r (4) could drive the first gear (3), and cause said worm move inside said chamber. The adjustable wrench in accordance with the present invention not only has a rapid speed for adjusting the width of the jaw, but also is easy to operation with a single hand.
