PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility by suppressing effectively the fluctuation of the display value of a display means even if detection signal level is fluctuated temporarily in a display device for vehicle. SOLUTION: In a fuel gage 1, the magnitude of a count signal outputted when the liquid 51 level detected by a sender unit 2 is changed relative to the initial value is switched to 1 or 4 by vehicle speed which is the operation state of the vehicle. Hereby, the time until the accumulated value C of the count signal reaches a threshold and the display value B of a display device 4 is updated is set in the stop state at four times as long as the case in the travelling state, and concerning updating of the display value B of the display device 4, a contribution rate on the updating of the display value B of the count signal outputted in the stop state is set small. Accordingly, since the change of the display value B can be moderated even when stopping for long hours because of congestion on a slope or the like, the fuel gage 1 having improved visibility can be realized by suppressing the fluctuation of the display value in a short time and sense of incongruity to be imparted to a driver as in the conventional fuel gage.
