PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nickel powder in which oxidation of the metallic nickel at binder removing time is difficult to develop, thermal shrinkage characteristic at the burning time is made close to a ceramic dielectric substance and the suitable characteristic as an inner part electrode material of a laminated ceramic condenser is given, and its production method. SOLUTION: The nickel powder has the peculiarity, in which a hydroxide composed of an element constituted of a dielectric material and an oxide composed of the above element, are coated on the surface of the nickel powdery particles. Then, this nickel powder is coated with the hydroxide composed of the element constituted of the dielectric material and a heating and burning treatment is performed at 100-350°C under non-oxidizing atmosphere, and the nickel powder coated with the hydroxide and the oxide composed of the element constituted of the dielectric material are mixed and this nickel powder is produced by sticking the oxide by a mechanical action.
