<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter capable of simultaneously extending the color reproducibility range of a liquid crystal display element, improving the uniformity of luminance and reducing unnecessary electromagnetic waves which are important performance especially in a liquid crystal television. <P>SOLUTION: The optical filter, which has at least a dyestuff layer having the absorption maximum between wavelengths 560nm to 605nm, a transparent electrically conductive layer whose sheet resistance is 1 to 1,000Ω/square and a light diffusing layer whose haze is in an extent of 80 to 99.99%, is used for the surface light source. The surface light source is used for the liquid crystal display device. Thus, the color reproducibility range can be enhanced by 5% or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
