<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a bead to a bottomed cylindrical battery can with keeping its shape and uniform thickness. <P>SOLUTION: A blade 13 used for forming a bead 4 has a part 60 for pressing the outer circumference of the battery can 3 to form the bead 4, and the curvature of the part 60 gradually decreases in the moving direction of the part as the pressing volume gradually increases. A battery can 3 is positioned and loaded on a loading and rotating mechanism 11 and rotated.
