<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and accurate determination method for a xanthone compound being an effective component of hercampure used for a living habit disease preventing/improving activity such as vasodepressor activity, a baddy cholesterol inhibitory effect, a goody cholesteroal rising effect or the like, alimentary therapy or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The simple and accurate determination method for the xanthone compound being an effective component of hercampure is obtained by collating a calibration curve of the xanthone compound, which is formed from the peak intensity of a wave number corresponding to the ketone group of the xanthone compound in an infrared spectrophotometer spectrum of a standard sample of the xanthone compound, with the peak intensity value of the ketone group of the xanthone compound in the infrared spectrophotometer spectrum of the 60-100% ethanol extract of hercampure to compute the xanthone compound. The effective component of hercampure can be determinated simply and accurately by collating the peak intensity of the ketone group of the xanthone compound in the infrared spectrophotometer spectrum with the value of the preliminarily formed standard sample with respect to the alcohol extract of an hercampure dried material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
