<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closure device and method for sealing a transcutaneous puncture hole passing through the wall of a blood vessel. <P>SOLUTION: In the closure device and method, an insert tool 1 has an actuator 200 which can be operated in a first mode for disposing an internal seal inside the blood vessel and operated in a second mode for tamping a fixing member on the outside of the blood vessel. The actuator is disposed to be set in the second mode for operating in response to tensile force acting on a filament connecting the internal seal and the fixing member. Preferably the actuator is controlled by an actuator mechanism 300 (400) for invalidating the actuator until tensile force applied to the filament causes the actuator to be reset to the second operation mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
