<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular lighting device having a dimension compatible with its performance even in the case that the vehicular lighting device is used as a head lamp, and the dimension is limited in relation to the design of the vehicle, and the confinement of the size within a limited dimension makes it difficult to be compatible with its performance. <P>SOLUTION: A lens 30 is used for the reflection of the irradiation light 40 from an electric bulb 5. Front side is lighted by the irradiation light 40 entering into the lens 30 from the inner surface of a cylindrical part 33 and by the front side irradiation light 41 as a part of the irradiation light 40 irradiated frontward at a second reflection surface and proceeding from an irradiation plane 31. A rear part irradiation light 42 in the remaining part of the irradiation light 40 is reflected frontward at a first reflection surface 38 and proceeds from an irradiation surface 31 after passing through a passing surface 37 and a slanted face 31, and lights the front side. The reflection surfaces can be superposed in front and back direction by using the lens 30, as a result, the size of the vehicular lighting device 1 can be reduced while improving the frontward lighting performance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
