<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron golf club head having more excellent repulsiveness than a conventional iron head without any problem in its strength and its molding. <P>SOLUTION: The iron golf club head is formed by joining a face member, which has a face part, an upper extension part extending from the upper end of the face part to a rear part and constituting the front part of a top part and a lower extension part extending from the lower end of the face part to the rear part and constituting the front part of a sole part, with a main body member composed of one or more components constituting the rear part of a club head. The thickness t<SB>u</SB>of the upper extension part and the thickness t<SB>d</SB>of the lower extension part are almost the same as the thickness t<SB>f</SB>of the face part. The thickness T<SB>u</SB>of a part in contact with the upper extension part of the main body member and the thickness T<SB>d</SB>of the part in contact with the lower extension part of the main body member are respectively larger than the thicknesses t<SB>u</SB>and t<SB>d</SB>. The length l<SB>u</SB>from the face back surface to the rear part of the upper extension part and the length l<SB>d</SB>from the face back surface to the rear part of the lower extension part are≥1.5 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
