PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound with high luminous efficiency and long luminous life as a luminescent material for an electroluminescent element. SOLUTION: A tungsten coordination compound is used as the luminescent material for the electroluminescenct device. Thereby, an element with high luminous efficiency and long luminous life can be made. Especially, a carbonyl tungsten complex given in a general formula (1) is a preferable compound.
