PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for analyzing band-wise sound pressure of propagated sounds by which ultra-low frequency sounds propagated through a solid etc., can be monitored continuously for a long period and, a change in natural phenomenon producing the sounds and a change occurring in a structure or the state of the structure can be discriminated and grasped. SOLUTION: The device is constituted to collect sounds propagated through a solid or liquid at prescribed measuring intervals, to sample the sounds by classifying the sounds into prescribed band-wise sound pressure values through a plurality of wide-band filters 20A, 20B, 20C, and 20D which respectively show secondary damping characteristics having crest-like peaks at center frequencies of 1, 10, 100, and 1,000 Hz, and to calculate a dominant frequency or peak sound pressure by conversion in a prescribed frequency region from the corresponding band-wise sound pressure values and analyze the frequency or sound pressure.
