PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a information reproducing apparatus capable of efficiently downloading information with excellent extendability of reproduction of an information storage medium. SOLUTION: The information reproducing apparatus is provided with: a first acquisition means (100) for acquiring contents from the information storage medium; second acquisition means (200, 211) for acquiring extension information from at least one of the information storage medium and an external device via a communication line; a control means (213) for controlling a timing to acquire extended contents information included in the extension information; a storage means (2091) for storing the extended contents information; and reproduction means (101, 203, 2081, 2082) for reproducing the contents and the extended contents information acquired in a prescribed timing synchronously with the reproduction of the contents.
