PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate reliable measurement on internal diffuse light. SOLUTION: The internal diffuse light measuring apparatus comprises a single light-receiving element 16, being arranged toward an area to be observed 16a centering on an irradiation point 19 of white laser light 12 to a sample 18. The single light-receiving element 16 is provided for measuring internal diffuse light 15 emitted from the sample 18 and comprises a mask 17 for discriminating the internal diffuse light 15 from surface-reflected light 13. The mask 17 functions in such a way as to receive the internal diffuse light 15 at the single light-receiving element 16 by optically shielding the surface-reflected light 13 out of the surface-reflected light 13 generated by the irradiation of the while laser light 12 from the irradiation point 19 and the internal diffuse light 15 emitted from the area to be observed 16a. As another mode of execution, by forming a two-dimensional area sensor of the single light-receiving element 16 and the mask 17, it is possible to use an electrical means for selecting the internal diffuse light.
