PURPOSE: A damper assembly of a drum washing machine is provided to prevent vibration and noise by detecting the eccentricity of the laundry accurately according to induced current through interaction of the coil and the magnet in moving a cylinder and a piston relatively. CONSTITUTION: A damper assembly of a drum washing machine comprises a cylinder(72) connected to a tub for washing the laundry; a damping pad(73) attached to the inner periphery of the cylinder; a piston(74) moved in the damping pad and connected to the cabinet for forming the exterior; and an eccentricity detecting unit installed between the cylinder and the piston to detect the eccentricity of the laundry according to relative motion of the cylinder and the piston. The eccentricity detecting unit is composed of a coil(76a) winding on the outer periphery of the cylinder, and a magnet(76b) fixed to the piston to generate induced current to the coil.
