The invention relates to a navigation device for a motor vehicle. Said navigation device is characterized in that it is provided with an acoustic output device by which driving instructions can be output as audio signals. The output device is adapted to generate audio signals from at least four different source directions (20, 22, 24, 26) that can be distinguished by the driver. The at least four source directions (20, 22, 24, 26) are logically related to the driving directions output from said source directions (20, 22, 24, 26) as audio signals. The invention further relates to a corresponding navigation method. |
