The fixing process involves setting the bellows with its housing-side sealing edge (D2) on a spreading element. A clamping tool is taken over the bellows on the spreading element. The sealing edge is spread and clamped. A vacuum is created in the clamping tool. The spread element is released and the clamping tool with the bellows on it is taken over the ball joint. In the correct position, the vacuum is relieved so that the sealing edge is positioned on the housing (8) and the shaft-side sealing edge (D1) is fitted over the ball pin (9).
