PURPOSE: A composition for activation of mammary gland containing an extract of stems of Ipomoea batatas is provided, thereby stimulating secretion of estrogen without side-effects, so that development of mammary gland can be activated. CONSTITUTION: The composition for activation of mammary gland contains an extract of stems of Ipomoea batatas, wherein the extract of stems of Ipomoea batatas is prepared by extracting the stems of Ipomoea batatas with one or more solvents selected from purified water, methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, glycerol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, benzene, hexane, diethylether and dichloromethane; and the composition for activation of mammary gland is a form of cream, gel, liquid, paste or solid.
