PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a RAM in the case that the residual capacity of the battery of a digital camera becomes little. SOLUTION: The digital camera is provided with: a power supply capacity detection circuit 116 for detecting the residual capacity of the battery; a flash ROM 114 for storing a control program for normal time and a control program for the time of saving power; DRAMs 102 and 103 and SRAMs 112 and 113 used for executing the control program for the normal time and the control program for the time of saving the power; and a CPU 101 for loading the control program for the time of saving the power from the flash ROM 114 to a part of the RAMs in the case of detecting that the residual capacity of the battery becomes lower than a preset reference value and shifting the RAMs not used to executing the control program for the time of saving the power to an operation stop state.
