<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for inspection ray paths and a ray path inspection method capable of reducing costs and inspecting ray paths, without affecting the quality of communication. <P>SOLUTION: For making inspection light incident in an optical fiber 3, an inspection light transmitter 9A for setting the frequency to double or higher of the frequency of communication light transmitting in the optical fiber 3, an inspection light receiver 11A for selectively receiving at least one of back scattered light of test light and the reflection light at every wavelength and an information producer 12 for measuring the time, until at least either of the back-scattered light of test light and the reflected light is received for each wavelength, and producing status information, showing the status of the optical fiber based on the measured time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
