<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of a fuel cell by restraining a reaction gas introduced into a cell from uselessly flowing outside a reaction region in a gas diffusion layer. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell is composed by interposing an electrode film structure 5, with gas diffusion layers 3 formed on both surfaces of an electrolyte film 1 between separators 9. A projecting part 21 projecting to the principal surface of the separator 9 is formed so as to surround a gas passage 13 of the separator 9. By compressing the diffusion layer 3 at a position facing to the projecting part 21, porosity of the diffusion layer 3 of the electrode film structure positioned outside the gas passage 13 of the separator 9 is set smaller than that at a position facing to the gas passage 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
