<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passive optical network (PON: Passive Optical Network) system wherein a data service and a broadcast service are simultaneously provided to a number of subscribers without decreasing the number of supporting subscribers, and a number of broadcast channels are accepted. <P>SOLUTION: A pumping optical signal is outputted from a central station 100 and an optical signal of the broadcast type service is amplified by an optical amplifier medium 220 of a local station 200 and then provided to a subscriber device 300, so that the data service and the broadcast type service are simultaneously provided to a number of subscribers without decreasing the number of supportable subscribers. Further, a plurality of light sources 120, 130 for the broadcast type service and the data service are used and optical signals generated from the plurality of light sources are received in each subscriber device utilizing a plurality of optical receivers 320, 330, so that various broadcast type services and data services of large capacity are conveniently and easily provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
