PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording/reproducing method and an information recording/reproducing device for simultaneously recording the classification information of a recording medium of a recording destination when contents are recorded and processed, and detecting the illegal copy by detecting the above information with the reproducing device, and also to provide an information recording medium. SOLUTION: The information recording method is constituted so that the information to be recorded is made into a block and an error correcting code is added thereto to produce an ECC block. A plurality of kinds of synchronizing signals SY differently aligned (as shown in the figure) in accordance with the classification of the information recording medium D or synchronizing signals SY having signal patterns according to the classification are added with specified intervals to the produced ECC block, and a recording signal based on this ECC block is recorded on the information recording medium. Since the medium is detected to be the recording medium by the alignment of the synchronizing signals at the reproduction even though the information of a ROM system is illegally copied entirely, the countermeasure such as the stop of information reproduction can be taken.
