PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize a highly accurate dressing process by eliminating the displacement of a grounding wheel during a dressing process even in a extra-thin grinding wheel width. SOLUTION: A grinding wheel 41 rotatably driven at the upper position of a table 19 is provided so as to be reciprocally raised and lowered, and is freely movable in the forward/backward and the left/right directions relatively to the table 19. A dresser device 43 is attachable and detachable to and from the table 19. The grinding machine is equipped with the first side dresser 47 in which the first disk dress wheel 55 performing a side dressing to one side surface of the grinding wheel 41 is provided freely rotatably in the almost horizontal direction, and with the second side dresser 49 in which the second disk dress wheel 57 performing a side dressing to the other side surface of the grinding wheel 41 is provided freely rotatably in the almost horizontal direction. The first and second side dressers 47 and 49 symmetrically approach each other centering on the grinding wheel 41. Notches are made in both side surfaces of the grinding wheel 41 at the same time by the first and second dress wheels 55 and 57 so as to sandwich the grinding wheel 41.
