PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilt adjusting device for a vehicle steering column capable of easily grasping whether the steering column is locked or not. SOLUTION: The tilt adjusting device of the steering column for the vehicle is equipped with a stationary bracket 31 having a guide slot 33, a movable bracket 40 installed rotatably on the stationary bracket, the steering column 20, a connection rod 50 to connect the stationary bracket with the movable bracket through the guide slot and a through hole formed in the movable bracket, stoppers 51 and 52 mounted at the both ends of the rod, and a locking unit 50 installed on the rod so as to lock or unlock the movable bracket, wherein the locking unit is furnished with conveying members 81 and 82 to lock or unlock the movable bracket with rotation of a rotary member, and a rotation limiting part 90 prevents the rotary member from rotating continuously in the condition that the movable bracket is locked to the stationary bracket.
