PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder capable of starting timer recording by succeeding timer reservation. SOLUTION: When the timer recording is performed by connecting two HDRs (hard disk recorders), the first HDR starts the timer recording when 5:00 as recording starting time comes when timer reservation is preliminarily performed to the respective HDRs. After staring the recording, a main CPU which detects recordable capacity of a hard disk terminates the recording by detecting that the recordable capacity runs short at 6:00 and provides the second HDR with a series signal. The second HDR is set as a state that the preset timer reservation is valid when the series signal is provided. Thus, the timer recording is started at 6:00 and terminated at 8:00 as recording termination time. Even when the timer recording is performed by the timer reservation by the two HDRs, the recording is performed by succeeding the recording contents from the first HDR to the second HDR.
