<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption and improve the reliability at low cost and elongate the life accompanied with high power efficiency complying with IEC standard. <P>SOLUTION: This motor driver includes a three-level power module unit 100, paired capacitors 300 which are connected in series with one another between the output terminals of the three-level power module 100, three active switches 400 which are connected between the input terminal of the three-level power module unit 100 and the junction between the paired capacitors 300, and a two-phase power module 600 which uses the voltage between the terminals of the paired capacitors 300 in a pair as its drive voltage.
