<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accommodate changes in the direction of light illumination when a card type information processing device executes face authentication. <P>SOLUTION: The card type information processing device comprises a face image holding part 140 for holding a face image of the owner of the card type information processing device, a light illumination direction detection part 120 for detecting the direction of light illumination illuminating the card type information processing device, an imaging part 130 for imaging the user of the card type information processing device to generate a face image of the user, a correction part 150 for correcting at least either the face image of the owner or the face image of the user according to the detection result of the light illumination direction detection part 120, an owner authentication part 160 for executing owner authentication by using the face image of the owner and/or the face image of the user corrected by the correction part 150 to collate the face image of the owner and the face image of the user, and an operation permission part 180 for permitting the operation of the card type information processing device if the owner authentication part 160 authenticates the user as the owner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
