<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk in which an image can be easily formed on a label surface of the optical disk without performing complicated control and to provide an optical disk device. <P>SOLUTION: This optical disk is provided with a foam layer including foam materials that foam when the foam materials are irradiated with laser beams from the label surface side. Since a foamed body is created by emitting laser beams from the label surface side to change refractive indexes of light made incident from the label surface side or to cause the light to make irregular reflection, this part looks cloudy to human's eyes to produce a difference in brightness and darkness from other parts that are not irradiated with the laser beams. Then, it is possible to form an image such as a desired character and pattern and form an image for easily discriminating data contents recorded on the recording surface of the optical disk. In addition, by providing a protective layer which protects the foam layer from the outside and is deformed when the foam layer foams, irregularities can be made on the label surface when the laser beams are emitted to form Braille points and three-dimensional characters and drawing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
