<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for programming an industrial robot so that a path including a plurality of waypoints located on an object to be processed by the robot or around the object are taught to the robot. <P>SOLUTION: This system includes a means for obtaining information on the waypoints on the pass corresponding to the object, a storage device 16 for storing information obtained, a simulation device 18, a graphic generating device 23, and a display 12. The simulation device 18 run a simulation of the path of the robot on the basis of the information on the waypoints and a model of the robot. The graphic generating device 23 generates a graphic expression of the robot path by the simulation.
