COLOR FILTER FOR TRANSLUCENT COLOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter for a translucent color liquid crystal display which can be easily manufactured advantageously in costs since the width of selection of materials for forming each member is wide and wherein display can be performed with a similar color tone in both reflection light and transmission light and light scattering is performed in a reflection light region.

SOLUTION: The color filter for the translucent color liquid crystal display has a transparent substrate and a colored layer for reflection light and a colored layer for transmission light formed on the transparent substrate. The colored layer for reflection light has irregularities formed on the surface thereof on the side of a liquid crystal layer and is formed so that the average film thickness of the colored layer for reflection light is thinner than the film thickness of the colored layer for transmission light. A refractive index increasing agent for heightening the refractive index is contained in the colored layer for reflection light so that the difference between refractive indices of the colored layer for reflection light and a layer coming in contact with the surface on the projecting and recesses formed side of the colored layer for reflection light is ≥0.1.
