PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaged power converter, and an electric power converter in which the packaged power converter is mounted on an external circuit board taking heat dissipation into account. SOLUTION: A packaged power converter 32 is comprised of a power converter circuit and a circuit board on which the power converter circuit is mounted. The power converter circuit has a converter including a magnetic core mounted on the circuit board and molded with encapsulated material, and it is provided with interface contacts 33 on bottom surface thereof electrically connected with an external circuit board 39. The power converter 32 is mounted on an opening 45 of the external circuit board. Conductive routes 37, 38 on the external circuit board are connected to the interface contacts 33 of the power converter for purpose of heat dissipation and remove the heat that the power converter generates via a heat sink.
