PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a testing instrument for measuring an ultrasonic image in real-time during performing a pulse sequence to measure an MR signal, and displaying the ultrasonic image. SOLUTION: In a time section (1), radiation is performed with an RF pulse 1 simultaneously with the application of a slice gradient magnetic field 4-1, so as to excite the nucleus of a sliced cross section. In a time section (2), a dephase gradient magnetic field Gs, and encoding gradient magnetic fields 2-1, 3-1 are applied. A read-out gradient magnetic field 3-2 is applied in a section (3) so as to measure the MR signal 6. The dephase gradient magnetic fields Gs, Gp, 3-3 are applied in a section (4). Then the pulse sequence is repeated a plurality of times in a time TR by changing the amount of application of the encoding gradient magnetic field 2-1. Ultrasonic wave transmission and receiving (T/R) are performed in the section (2)9-2 and the section (4)9-2. One scan for obtaining an ultrasonic image is constituted of 96 lines. The times of pulse sequence repetition required for obtaining an MR image is defined as 128, so that ultrasonic imaging is performed substantially in real-time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
