摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method whereby communication is attained between all node units without interrupting a control path in a WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) ring system wherein the wavelength of a data path is shared with that of the control path and the wavelength for demultiplexing and multiplexing is dynamically revised. <P>SOLUTION: In the control path establishing method for the WDM ring network wherein a plurality of node units are connected in a ring form, each of the node units being provided with: an OADM (Optical Add Drop Multiplexing) apparatus for applying demultiplexing, multiplexing, and add / drop processing to an optical signal in units of wavelengths respectively wherein the wavelength of the optical signal subjected to demultiplexing / multiplexing is varied; and a router for performing path selection processing in unit of IP (Internet Protocol) packets, the method is characterized in that the wavelength of the control path is the same as that of the data path, the control path uses the wavelength of the data path to the utmost, and the control path is dynamically revised in response to the revision of the data path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
