<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide liquid crystal elements picked up from a pair of large area substrates, for which accuracy of alignment of respective function films with one another, requiring a high accuracy level, is easily grasped without carrying out a troublesome length measuring operation. <P>SOLUTION: Outer peripheries 8a, 8b of a corner part of a black mask 8 is formed as projecting and recessing first graduation marks M1 comprising recesses 8c, respectively, in square shapes with 50 μm edges aligned with 100 μm pitch, and overlapping therewith, second graduation marks M2 comprising second graduation indexes 10, respectively, in circular shapes with 40 μm diameters aligned with 99 μm pitch and third graduation marks M3 comprising third graduation indexes 12, respectively, in square shapes with 40 μm edges aligned with 99 μm pitch are provided on a segment electrode film and a common electrode film, respectively. The accuracy of disposed positions of the segment electrode and the common electrode with respect to the black mask is easily grasped from relative positions of the second and third graduation indexes 10, 12 to corresponding empty recesss 8d. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
