PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing array substrate capable of securing the improved process yield and saving the material expenses by further simplifying the conventional four-mask process. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing array substrate, a three-mask process in which a slit mask is used and, at the same time, a method of forming a protective film constituted on the upper part of the substrate by means of a printing method is utilized is used and, thereby, an array substrate for a liquid crystal display device is manufactured and the process yield is improved.
