The method involves applying UV absorber enriched powder coating layer (15) on an existing varnish film on a substrate (10), using infrared radiation with a frequency of 0.8 to 1.5 micrometers. The film comprises of a colored base layer (11), a polyester filler layer (12), a varnish film base (13), and a varnish clear film (14). Independent claims are included for the following: (a) a body component of a motor vehicle; (b) a use of a lacquer finish fabrication technique; (c) and a use infrared radiation in frequency range between 0.8 and 1.5 micrometers.
