<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curling reduction method by which especially printed matter of plain paper can be easily handled by sufficiently inhibiting the curling. <P>SOLUTION: This inkjet recording method includes a process to discharge ink which contains water, a coloring agent and at least one kind selected between chemical compounds (1) and (2) described below and shows a surface tension of 35m N/m or less to a recording medium by an inkjet recording process. The liquid droplet volume per one liquid droplet of ink is less than 3 pL and the ink implanting amount per unit area is 3×10<SP>-6</SP>mL/mm<SP>2</SP>to 3×10<SP>-5</SP>mL/mm<SP>2</SP>. In addition, data are recorded in the recording medium by performing the specified two or more rounds of main scan through relatively moving a printing head for discharging ink in a main scan direction to a specified region of the recording medium. The chemical compound (1) is a polyhydric alcohol whose molecular weight Mw falls within the range of 100≤Mw≤1,000.
