摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily manufacturing a wideband cholesteric liquid crystal film at low cost by reducing the thickness of a liquid crystal layer. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the cholesteric liquid crystal film comprises forming two or more layers of laminated cholesteric liquid crystal layers by applying a cholesteric liquid crystal polymer (1) on an orientation substrate surface and heating the polymer to a liquid crystal transition temperature or above to orient the polymer and to form the cholesteric liquid crystal layer (1), then by applying the cholesteric liquid crystal polymer (2) which is the same as or different from the polymer (1) on the liquid crystal layer (1) or/and on the rear surface of the orientation substrate surface not formed with the liquid crystal layer (1) at least once and by heating the polymers to the liquid crystal transition temperature or above at every coating application to orient the polymers. The selective reflection wavelength band of the laminated cholesteric liquid crystal layers are made wider in band as compared to the selective reflection wavelength band of the laminated cholesteric liquid crystal layers (1) by using the cholesteric liquid crystal polymer which is fluctuated in twisting properties by heating to the liquid crystal transition temperature or above at least as the cholesteric liquid crystal polymer (1). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
