<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high density recordable write-once type optical recording medium which can perform recording and reproducing even in the region of a blue laser wavelength, which has layer constitution in which recording and reproducing can be performed easily even for a shallow groove substrate having good transfer characteristic, and in which variation of recording characteristics such as recording sensitivity, modulation degree, jitter, an error rate and reflectance, or the like are less for variation of the recording and reproducing wavelength. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical recording medium having at least a light absorbing layer and an organic material layer on a substrate, a state variation is caused in the organic material layer by generation of heat of the light absorbing layer by irradiation of a laser beam, and recording is performed by increasing absorption coefficient in a recording and reproducing wavelength by the state variation, and by deformation for a direction forward the organic material layer of at least one side of layers being adjacent the organic material layer caused by decrement of a volume of the organic material layer as the state variation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
